FROM A STORAGE TO A BOUTIQUE HOTEL
Our story
OUR HISTORICAL funk building, built in 1930’s served first as a storage and grocery shop for SOK (S-Group).
The building is situated in the Old Rauma. Architect Paavo Riihimäki designed the funk building first place. Later on architect Markus Bernoulli designed the changes needed for a hotel. The building went through a complete renovation in the late 1980’s.
Hotel Old Rauma started in November 2007. Before that there were Hotel Kalatori and Kalatori’s Guesthouse.
Current owners bought the business after the bankruptcy in 2011 and continued with the hotel business. The name Hotel Old Rauma was preserved. Soon after that Restaurant Kalatori opened in the same premises, serving quality menus and a variety of wines.
In 2022 Hotelli Vanha Rauma Ltd purchased the whole real estate. During the years this unique funk building has been through renovations in and out.
This idyllic and lovely family own boutique hotel lives and breathes this moment focusing to the future.
